National Institute of Technology Arunachal Pradesh

As part of 10 new NITs, the National Institute of Technology, Arunachal Pradesh was inaugurated on 18th August, 2010. These new NITs were established as centres of excellence in technical education to combat the growing need of technological professionals in India as well as in the world. The departments  of NIT Arunachal Pradesh are:

  • Department of Civil Engineering
  • Department of Computer Science and Engineering
  • Department of Electrical Engineering
  • Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering
  • Department of Mechanical Engineering

Admission to NIT Arunachal Pradesh

Admission to the Bachelor Degree Courses in Engineering/Technology in National Institute of Technology, Arunachal Pradesh  is on the basis of rank obtained by JEE Main conducted by National Testing Agency.

In addition to the normal intake, a few seats are reserved for Foreign Students who are nominated by the Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India, and the Indian Council of Cultural Relations, Government of India.

Temporary Campus of NIT Arunachal

The NIT is temporarily housed in a high school building in Yupia, Arunachal Pradaesh, around 18 km from Itanagar, the capital of Arunchal Pradesh, and is about 11 km from Naharlagun, which is the twin capital town. The place has healthy climate with moderate temperature ranging from 13°C to 27°C with an annual mean rainfall of 365 mm. The permanent campus building is under construction at Jote, district Papumpare, surrounded by beautiful green forest and mountains.

Cultural Festivals of NIT Arunachal Pradesh

ATULYAM is the Annual Cultural Festival of NIT Arunachal Pradesh. The first cultural festival ATULYAM was held in October 2013. There are 23 events in eight categories including Flash Mob, theatrics, Viking zone, rhythm on the floor, literature, sports and Mr. & Ms. Atulyam.

Addovedi is the annual intercollege technical festival organized by the students of NIT Arunachal Pradesh, first  of its kind in the state.
