Central Institute of Himalayan Culture Studies

The Central Institute of Himalayan Culture Studies (CIHCS) has been established on 19th May 2010 as Society under Societies Registration Act. The CIHCS has accordingly been registered on 10th Nov. 2010 under the Societies Registration Act, 1860. It is located in Dahung, West Kameng District of Arunachal Pradesh.

The society aims to provide instruction for various courses in Indian Culture and for study and research in different branches of Buddhist Philosophical and Cultural Studies. It prepares a student for higher learning and research in the fields of Buddhist Studies, Bhoti language and literature and Himalayan Studies with pedagogic methods using knowledge of modern research methodology and advanced up-to-date technology.
The CIHCS undertakes Under Graduate, Post Graduate and Doctoral Programmes in Buddhist and Himalayan studies and may also establish and maintain feeder schools.

  3. Shastri with Bhot Bauddha Nyaya and English / Hindi as compulsory components.
  4. Shastri with Himalayan Ayurveda (Sowa Rigpa) and English / Hindi as compulsory components.
  5. Shastri with Himalayan Jyotisha and English / Hindi as compulsory components.
  6. Shastri with Himalayan Performing Arts and English / Hindi as compulsory components.
  7. Shastri with Himalayan Arts & Crafts and English / Hindi as compulsory components.
  8. Shiksha Shastri (B.Ed.)

Post Graduate Diploma, Diploma & Certificate Courses:
Post Graduate Diploma, Diploma and Certificate Courses in Computer Applications, Himalayan Fine Arts, Himalayan Crafts, Himalayan Sculpture, Himalayan Performing Arts, Traditional Physiotherapy/Panch Karma and Himalayan Cultural Tourism shall be started as per requirement and feasibility.

Courses in Feeder Schools:
